Supportive Services for Veteran Families

SSVF uses a Housing First approach to help Veterans and their families in Logan, Boone, and Wyoming Counties achieve lasting housing stability. Our focus is on keeping people housed, not treatment—providing immediate support, crisis intervention, and tools for long-term self‑sufficiency.

What We Do

  • Help Veterans secure and maintain permanent housing
  • Provide short-term financial assistance and supportive services
  • Prevent homelessness or quickly rehouse those currently homeless
  • Promote independence and stability

Supportive Services Include

  • Outreach and case management
  • Assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits
  • Connections to health care, legal services, financial planning, child care, transportation, and housing counseling
  • Time‑limited payments to landlords, utility companies, movers, and licensed child care providers to support housing stability

Who Is Eligible

Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Veteran households (single Veterans or families), with a discharge other than dishonorable
  • Income below 50% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Currently homeless, at imminent risk of homelessness, or recently housed (within the past 90 days) and seeking more sustainable housing options
